Opening Ceremony of Gurkha Cemetry
A dedicated First Burial site for the Gurkha Nepalese community was formally open in  London  Borough of Hillingdon on 18th November 2014 to coincide with the Remembrance Day.  Site is located near the Peace Memorial Garden in Cherry Lane Cemetery, in West Drayton had space for 100 plus graves and about 30 column burial units.​ More than 150 members of the Nepalese community attended the events, where the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Catherine Dann unveil a dedication plaque.

Cherry Lane Cemetery 


Cherry Lane Cemetery was laid out with a grid of paths and at the roadside boundary has 2 semi-circular entrances with iron gates and railings with brick and stone piers. Cemetery planting includes a variety of trees such as conifers and evergreens particularly along the south boundary.
